Simple and delicious, tall and refreshing – a great alternative to the G&T and just as easy to make.

This is one of those “Swiss army knife” recipes that can work with almost any spirit, or you can get creative with other citrus juices, bitters and fruits.

GIN Or other preferred base, if you want to try something other than gin. For example Vodka, lime and ginger beer creates a Moscow Mule.

FRESH LEMON JUICE If you’re just making one or two drinks, cut a wedge of lemon, squeeze it in, then discard it. If you’re making a few more for a party, squeeze and strain your lemon juice (no one wants floaty bits) ahead of schedule.

GINGER ALE You can use Ginger Beer if you prefer, but the Gin version typically uses Ale.

Why we chose this recipe for you

The versatility of gin makes this Buck recipe an incredibly easy drink to play with when you want to add your own twist. With just a few simple tweaks to the core ingredients you can create your own unique recipe with very different characteristics.

Try switching out lemon juice for other citrus juices, or adding a few dashes of bitters to add spice and complexity. Including fresh berries is a great option that will impart both colour and flavour to your classic Buck.
