Gin Buck

Simple and delicious, tall and refreshing – a great alternative to the G&T and just as easy to make.

This is one of those “Swiss army knife” recipes that can work with almost any spirit, or you can get creative with other citrus juices, bitters and fruits.

Famous members of the Buck family include the Moscow Mule and the Dark & Stormy.

Ingredients 

  • 45 ml GIN (1 part)
  • 15 ml FRESH LEMON JUICE (1/3 part)
  • 135 ml GINGER ALE (3 parts)

How to make it

  • 1 – Measure all ingredients into highball glass.
  • 2 – Add as much ice as you can fit into the glass
  • 3 – Finish with a wheel of lemon to garnish then serve.

Get nerdy with it

GIN Or other preferred base, if you want to try something other than gin. For example Vodka, lime and ginger beer creates a Moscow Mule.

FRESH LEMON JUICE If you’re just making one or two drinks, cut a wedge of lemon, squeeze it in, then discard it. If you’re making a few more for a party, squeeze and strain your lemon juice (no one wants floaty bits) ahead of schedule. 

GINGER ALE You can use Ginger Beer if you prefer, but the Gin version typically uses Ale.
