In our Oolong Negroni, the cold infusion of tea into the gin brings additional complexity, flavour and also tannins. With these extra tannins, and to allow the flavours of the tea to really come through, the traditional 1:1:1 ratio of the recipe is tweaked to find the perfect balance of this delicious Negroni variation.
Adapted from a recipe originally created for Beefeater gin in the early 2010s by one of the Candra co-founders, it used Mi-Lang oolong tea, and was therefore named the Mi-Lang Negroni. Finding that specific Oolong tea makes replicating this recipe a little tough, so simply use an oolong tea that you like. If you’ve never tried oolong before, but you like drinking tea of almost any variety, you’re in for a treat. Get some, you won’t regret it!
