Use a red wine you would drink a glass of in any normal circumstance, an undrinkable red wine is not going to be transformed entirely here, this is a delicious drink, not magic.
In Spain the drink is usually served with some amount of sugar, either by using a lemon soda, or a slightly sweetened sparkling water, such as ‘La Casera’. However, sweetness comes down to your personal preference. Some wines will feel like they need a little more sweetness, while others will not. So, trust your palate and add sugar as you need, or use a sweetened soda of course.
- 90 ml RED WINE (1 part)
- 90 ml SPARKLING WATER or LEMON SODA (1 part)
- 1 ORANGE WHEEL
- 1 LEMON WHEEL
How to make it
- 1 – Add ingredients to a wine glass or Highball.
- 2 – Fill with cubed Ice above the level of the liquid.
- 3 – Slide in a wheel of lemon and a slice of orange, then serve.
